Hi world! Welcome to my home in Chianti!
You will find us on a panoramic hilltop in the little, quiet hamlet of San Martino al Vento, among vineyards and olive groves in the heart of the historical Chianti Classico, surrounded by ancient castles, such as the famous Castello di Brolio and its sister, Castello di Meleto. We welcome you in one of the oldest houses of the hamlet, with an old, partly conserved tower, everything lovingly restored to the highest standards in the classical Tuscan style.
This spacious, old fortified house with its historical atmosphere has three storeys: a ground floor, where I live with my family, and a first and second floor, which are at the disposition of our guests. These have been furnished with antique furniture, belonging to my family and notably to my paternal grandfather, after whom I have been named and from whom I have inherited a passion for literature, art and everything beautiful.
This is the reason why the house is called “Antiche Rime” , in honour of Dante Alighieri, embedded as it is in a landscape of rare beauty so dear to him, offering spectacular sunsets which you can admire from your own windows.
Here you can enjoy an unforgettable holiday in complete relaxation, in sophisticated, yet simple surroundings and at the same time feel comepletely at ease as if you were in your own home.
Breakfast is prepared and served by me personally apart from any additions according to your personal wishes and tastes. I like taking care of my guests, making them feel at home as people here do, who have been born and bred in this unique part of the world called the Chianti.
So if you are cruising around the area and feel like stopping….. do so! You will not regret it.

What a fabulous place to stay in the heart of the Chianti region. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Alba who was like a ray of sunshine. She is very knowledgeable about the region and was able to guide us to good restaurants and points of interest.The rooms were large with great views. The place was spotless and very comfortable. This Band B is in a small village which is about an hour away from most important towns and cities in the Chianti region. We were there at the end of October and were happy that there was central heating. I would recommend this lovely place to anyone who is interested in wines, scenery and history.

We absolutely recommend a stay in Antiche Rime.
‘Casa al vento’ is a small and cozy house, ideal for two persons, the kitchen is fully equipped, sanitary is new, and all is ultra-clean.
The neighbourhood is stunning, it’s a variation of wineries and woods in a glowing landscape, and on every hilltop lays a little village (most of them very old and authentic). You can discover it by car, by vespa (from gaiole), or by foot! Lots of hiking trails traverse the area. We saw foxes, deers and pheasants in the wild.
Alba is a perfect hostess, always around the corner for answering questions and giving some good suggestions.

Ogni anno ritorniamo a S. Martino per assaporare la tranquillità e l’ospitalità che Alba trasmette attraverso la cura di ogni dettaglio.
Al risveglio la colazione viene servita gratificando i gusti di ogni singolo ospite: ottimi dolci preparati in casa, confetture casalinghe, macedonia di frutta fresca, un mega cappuccino e tante cose da raccontare per organizzare la giornata.
Consigliamo questo soggiorno a chi apprezza la campagna, i vigneti, le case in pietra, percorrere le strade bianche ed ascoltare gli animali al pascolo… e la buona cucina.
Non mancano le comodità e la facile accessibilità a noti luoghi turistici e storici della Toscana.
Ringraziamo Alba e la sua famiglia che dal 2007 ci riserva tutto questo.

Abbiamo trascorso qui una bella vacanza!
La signora Alba e i suoi splendidi genitori sono stati accoglienti e premurosi.
L’appartamento pulito e carino,anche se ci sono degli scalini, che abbiamo trovato un po’ rischiosi per la nostra bimba che cominciava a camminare, ma a tutto c’è rimedio! E spostando il divano abbiamo evitato che cadesse!
Noi siamo stati in Toscana nei giorni più caldi dell’anno, abbiamo trovato molto comodo il ventilatore in camera da letto, peccato non ce ne fosse un altro nella zona pranzo!
Accoglienti anche gli abitanti di San Martino al Vento, paesino nel cuore del Chainti senese: abbiamo girato parecchio visitando Siena, Greve in Chianti, Radda in Chianti e Gaiole, che ci ha un po’ deluso…Avevamo letto che era definito “Comune idilliaco d’Europa”…poco o niente da vedere !
Tornando ad “Antiche Rime”… la piscina è un luogo da paradiso … molto bella (anche qua per raggiungerla abbiamo preso l’auto…). Ottima la colazione che Alba ci ha offerto…c’era di tutto, dai meravigliosi Muffin toscani alla macedonia di frutta, dal ciambellone al mega cappuccino, passando per yogurt e cereali!
Ottimo anche l’olio d’oliva che abbiamo trovato nel nostro appartamento!!Un posto da consigliare se cercate tranquillità e relax!

“Une super chambre d”hôtes dans le chianti. Très belle maison, très belle chambre, très propre et un petit-déjeuner extra. Des pâtisseries maison tous les matins, entre autres. Une très belle piscine avec cuisine aménagée, vous pourrez donc y pique-niquer. Il y a aussi un barbecue. Je vous conseille vivement cette chambre !”

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en Toscane, grâce notamment à la qualité du logement et de l’accueil qu’Alba réserve à ses locataires. Les lits sont très confortables et les chambres sont spacieuses et très propres. Elles sont entretenues tous les jours. Des fenêtres, on découvre les magnifiques paysages du Chianti. Enfin, les petits déjeuners d’Alba sont divins, ses patisseries notamment qui nous manquent depuis notre retour. Alba est une femme charmante qui a un vrai sens de l’accueil et qui parle très bien français.

Nous sommes tombés sous le charme de notre hôtesse et d’Antiche Rime au point que nous souhaitons reproduire pour une durée plus longue notre séjour l’année prochaine. La position géographique d’Antiche Rime en Toscane au coeur du Chianti entre Sienne et Florence est très favorable, de même que la proximité du village de Gaiole in Chianti ou nous pouvons trouver tous les services dont nous aurons besoin lors de notre séjour. La construction est de très grande qualité, tout ici respire la santé, la maison dans le style Toscan est construite avec les matériaux nobles de la région et semble prête à traverser les siècles.

Accueil très chaleureux, chambre amménagée avec beaucoup de goût, petit déjeuner préparé avec beucoup de soins(patisseries et confitures maison excellentes, superbe vue sur les vignes du Chianti.

Tout petit village calme et tranquille, mais assez central pour de nombreuses visites et promenades. La maison est restaurée avec beaucoup de gout, les chambres sont confortables, la propreté est impeccable. Mme Rei accueille ses hotes avec plein de gentillesse, attentive aux besoins de chacun. Ses petits déjeuners typiquement toscans, qu’elle a préparé elle-meme, sont un régal. Elle partage sa passion de la région et nous fait découvrir des endroits inoubliables…souvent non répertoriés dans les guides. UNE MERVEILLE pour un séjour culturel et reposant.

Nous rentrons de notre petit séjour dans le Chianti, ravis. Nous avons trouvé chez Alba Rei notre coin de paradis. Dans une maison magnifique, typique de cette magnifique région, baignée de beauté et de calme,nous avons été reçus très chaleureusement par Alba : une hôtesse charmante,parlant aisément le français , qui nous a gâté par ses délicieux petits déjeuners mais aussi par sa gentillesse et son gout de l”accueil. Che dire, abbiamo passato una bellissima serata tra le campagne del Chianti. La signora Alba è precisa ed ospitale, non facendo mancare proprio nulla ai propri clienti. Very good la colazione con un dolce al limone davvero delizioso. Ci ritorneremo appena possibile. 10+

Que dire, cela fait la deuxième fois que nous venons et c’est toujours aussi merveilleux. Un coin de paradis… Alba est toujous aussi charmante, accueillante … et qui nous a gatés avec ses petits déjeuners et toujours prêtes à rendre service. Fait partager sa passion pour l’Italie et donner de bonnes adresses pour les endroits à visiter (et en plus dans un excellent français). Jamais 2 sans 3 !!!

Pour notre premièr séjour en Chianti, c’était une révélation. Un accueil au petit soins, une belle chambre et des produits locaux au petit déjouner. San Martino al Vento est un endroit magnifique et typique du Chianti classico !
Quelques superbes restaurants à proximité et un point central de la découverte du Chianti.
Alba nous a accueilli avec un charmant accent Français et des conseils toujours précieux.

Une location au calme et au coeur de la nature avec des propriétaires très sympathiques, contents de nous renseigner sur les environs et d’échanger avec nous. La vue imprenable depuis la terrasse est un véritable atout tout comme la piscine à deux pas de la maison.
La location est très bien équipée et nous n’avons manqué de rien.
Nous ne pouvons que recommander cette location qui nous a parfaitement satisfaite pour nos vacances avec notre petite fille de 2 ans.

Sono 3 anni di fila che alloggiamo da Alba, durante “L’Eroica” a Gaiole e ci troviamo benissimo. Ogni volta, riceviamo l’accoglienza calorosa di Alba. La “nostra” ormai camera gialla sempre pronta,pulita e ordinata ci aspetta per l’occasione. La 1a colazione è squisita, ricca di prodotti freschi, genuini,locali e alcune specialità “faites mason” da Alba come i suoi Muffins sono indimenticabili.
Poi,il posto è un angolo di paradiso, tranquillo e non rumoroso. Lo consigliamo vivamente a tutti e noi,ci torniamo senz’altro anche quest’anno!
